Simple Breathing Technique to Calm Yourself Down

With the all of what’s going on in the world, life can be very stressful. We are constantly bombarded with negative news that it can even affect our physiology and how our bodies are functioning. Here is a simple and inexpensive (practically free) breathing technique that can help to calm yourself down. In this video, Dr. Andrew Weil explains the technique and how it works.

  • You simply quietly breathe in through your nostrils for 4 counts.

  • Hold in your breath for 7 counts.

  • Then exhale your breath for 8 counts.

  • You can do that for a total of 4 breath cycles, twice a day.
