Hiking is Good for Your Body and Mind

As February is American Heart Month, just wanted to share some inspiration to help you take control of your health. One simple habit is that you can start is hiking out in nature. Some of the benefits of hiking are:

  • Lowers your risk of heart disease

  • Improves your blood pressure and blood sugar levels

  • Increases bone density

  • Strengthens your core

  • Improves your balance

  • Boosts your mood

One famous hiker was Hulda Crooks. At the age of 54, her husband encouraged her to start hiking as she suffered pneumonia. Since then, she has not slowed down as you will see in the video. She’s an inspiration to us all. Go outside and start moving!
